California Senate Bill 390 Certification Course

COMING JULY 1, 2021

Under existing law (SB-1626), school and community college security officers who work more than 20 hours per week are required to complete a one-time 24-hour certification course developed by the BSIS in consultation with the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.

California Senate Bill 390 (SB-390) was enacted in 2019 and goes into effect on July 01, 2021. SB-390 will supersede SB-1626 requiring all school and community college security staff, regardless of the number of hours worked, to complete the latest training developed by the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). The training needs to be provided during regular work hours annually.

Our IMReady SB-390 Certification Course is a live training session, presented by POST certified instructors. This live training is presented in the employee's work environment and the course content is customized to address specific issues that are relevant to the school or college district.
